gift ideas for the Blackstone griddle lover

So you’ve already got the griddle lover in your life covered with spatulas, a melting dome, and a burger press. But what else can you give them that they’ll actually use? I’m not talking about the absolute must-have griddle accessories here – these are the items that make griddle cooking more fun and maybe a bit easier.

Think of this as the holiday gift guide for the griddle enthusiast who already has the basics covered. Whether it’s for Christmas, a birthday, or just because, these gift ideas go beyond the standard accessories and get into the gear that takes their flat top cooking to the next level.

And here’s the thing… these aren’t just random items that’ll sit in a drawer. These are tools and accessories that I actually use when I fire up my Blackstone. So let’s dive into some gift ideas that any griddle lover would be stoked to unwrap.

Instant Read Meat Thermometer

An instant read thermometer is a must-have for anyone cooking, period. Whether you’re griddling, smoking, or even cooking indoors, you need a good internal probe-style thermometer.

I use and recommend this Thermoworks Thermapen Instant Read Thermometer, or for a more budget-friendly option, this Thermopro Digital Meat Thermometer. I’ve had great success with both brands.

You can use these thermometers to check the internal temperature of your griddle chicken breasts and make sure they’re cooked to 165°F or to get your griddle steaks perfectly done to your liking. In fact, I use an instant read thermometer most days when I’m cooking.

Bent Handle Scraper

Besides my favorite griddle spatula, this Oxo bent handle griddle scraper is my number one most used griddle accessory! It’s great for scraping oil and leftover food into the grease trap, moving food to the side of the griddle, or cleaning the griddle.

The bent angle of the scraper’s handle makes it much more comfortable in your hand versus a traditional bench scraper, and because it has a longer handle, it keeps your hand more elevated off the hot surface of the flat top.

*This is the #1 accessory that I get asked about the most in my griddle cooking YouTube videos!

Weber Burger Press

forming ground beef into burger patties with a Weber burger press

If the griddle lover in your life grinds their own meat or they prefer regular thick burgers over griddle smash burgers, then a quality burger press is a fantastic gift.

I’ve tried a lot of different burger presses to form ground beef into perfectly shaped burgers, and this Weber burger press is by far my favorite!

The Weber burger press has a thin side and a thick side, so you can make exactly the size patty you want. And here’s the real benefit – if you’re prepping burgers ahead of time and vacuum sealing them, you can stack those pressed patties with parchment paper in between and freeze them. When it’s time to cook, they’re ready to go without any fuss.

Six Inch Parchment Paper Rounds

using parchment paper rounds to make smash burgers

If you’ve read any of my smash burger posts, you know I’m a big fan of using parchment paper when smashing the beef into the griddle. Not everybody has the skill level to work with just stainless steel or cast iron without tearing the beef. The parchment paper rounds solves that problem completely. These six inch rounds are the perfect size for making smash burgers, and they help to keep your burger press cleaner also.

You can also use the rounds when forming ground beef into thick burger patties. Start with a foundation of parchment paper, place your burger patty on top, add another piece of parchment paper, and you can stack them up in your freezer. When you’re ready to cook, the parchment paper is in between each patty so you can break them off one at a time.

These parchment rounds make great stocking stuffers for the Blackstone griddle lover too!

Griddle Temperature Guide Magnet

This griddle temperature guide magnet is handy for sticking on the side shelf of your Blackstone griddle to reference what temperature to cook different foods at. With temperature range suggestions for everything from smash burgers to pasta dishes, this magnet takes the guesswork out of figuring out what temperature setting to use when flat top grilling.

Infrared Laser Thermometer

An infrared laser thermometer is a great tool for checking the cooking surface temperature of your Blackstone griddle. It’s important to know the surface temperature of your griddle so that you don’t burn your eggs or miss out on that perfect seared crust of a smash burger.

When combined with a griddle temperature chart like the one above, this type of thermometer is especially handy for griddle beginners!

Melting Dome and Wire Rack Combo

using a melting dome to cook chicken on a Blackstone griddle

A melting dome is great for melting cheese on burgers, but it can also help to steam vegetables on the flat top grill or to speed up the cooking time for foods like chicken breasts or pork chops – anytime that you want more of a 360° heat, oven-like effect versus just the heat coming from the bottom.

My favorite Cuisinart melting dome includes a wire rack that fits perfectly under the dome. It’s great for elevating foods off the griddle surface so they don’t burn on the bottom, while also keeping them warm or melting cheese.

Rice Cooker

Fried rice is huge when it comes to griddle cooking. It’s literally one of the most popular griddle recipes to make on a Blackstone, right up there with burgers and fajitas.

A good rice cooker makes the whole process easier. You simply add your rinsed rice and water, press start, and the rice cooker does all of the work for you. I get perfectly cooked rice every time that I use this rice cooker, and then I spread it out on a sheet tray to cool before making my griddle fried rice.

But this rice cooker really shines beyond just making rice – we use ours all the time for other things. We’ll set it on warm and use it to keep queso or other dips hot for parties. Or you can also use the included steam basket for steaming vegetables. A rice cooker is much more versatile than you’d think, and for someone who loves griddle cooking, it’s a game changer for making authentic fried rice.

Grill Lights

You know what happens when daylight savings time kicks in? We’re all out here cooking in the dark. I struggle with it every single time, trying to see what the heck I’m griddling when the sun goes down at 6:00 PM.

These grill lights are AAA battery powered and attach right to your griddle. They’re simple, they work, and they make a huge difference when you’re trying to get the perfect sear on your burgers or check if your fried rice is done.

I bought a box of these maybe three years ago and we still use them constantly. For the price, they make a great stocking stuffer, and they’re one of those gifts that keeps on giving.

Stainless Steel Skewers

Metal skewers are the perfect accessories for both the griddle and the grill! You can use them to make grilled vegetable or shrimp kabobs on your regular charcoal or gas grill, or make our favorite chicken bacon ranch skewers or griddle kabobs on the Blackstone!

The Flat Top King Seasonings

griddle seasonings by The Flat Top King

Okay, this one’s a bit of a shameless plug, but we created these seasonings specifically for griddle cooking, and they have rave reviews, so we consider them a great gift idea for every griddle cook!

Smash That Burger Seasoning makes the best smash burgers you’ve ever tasted, Shake That All-Purpose Seasoning is a fan favorite for pretty much any meat or vegetables, and ‘Que That is a great barbecue seasoning for grilling or griddle cooking.

If the griddle lover in your life is always experimenting with flavors, this three pack gives them some serious versatility.

Weber Caddy with Lid

Weber Works griddle caddy

This Weber caddy came with one of my griddles, and I’ve used it constantly ever since. It’s designed to fit perfectly in the side table of the Weber Slate griddle, but even if you have a Blackstone or other brand of flat top grill, this is a great griddle caddy!

Here’s what makes it one of my favorite grill caddies that I’ve ever used – the handle pops up for carrying and pops down for storage. It’s got two large holes perfectly sized for squirt bottles (a must-have for griddle cooks), and it still has space for my thermometers, seasonings, and oils also. Everything stays organized and right where I need it.

The Weber Works caddy also comes with a lid that doubles as a tray and is incredibly useful for resting and seasoning meat. The lid has grooves on it that keep your meat slightly elevated off the surface, so when you season it or let it rest, it’s not sitting in a pool of its own juices.

Overall, this is a great gift for the griddle fanatic, and something that he or she probably wouldn’t buy themselves!

The Flat Top King E-Cookbook

griddle recipe ebook from The Flat Top King

The digital cookbook includes over 100 griddle recipes that are currently on our website – everything from breakfast and appetizers to chicken, beef, pork, fish and seafood, burgers and sandwiches, Asian dishes, tacos, and sides. And it’s not just a PDF – it’s a complete three-ring binder system that you can print and put together yourself.

Here’s what makes it even better – each December, we’ll release a booster pack e-book with all the new recipes from that year. So if you have the initial cookbook, you can just print the new pages, hole punch them, and add them to your binder. It keeps growing with you.

The cookbook comes with tabs that you cut out yourself, and there’s a template to help you place them on the divider pages. When you’re done, you’ve got a professional-looking cookbook binder specifically for griddle recipes.

Grilling Tongs

using grill tongs to flip beef short ribs on a Blackstone griddle

You probably don’t think about tongs when you think about griddle cooking accessories. Tongs are more suited to grilling. But they can be very handy on the Blackstone also!

When you need to flip certain foods like Korean beef short ribs or chicken kabobs, a good pair of long handled tongs make it easier. Plus, they help to keep your hand away from the hot griddle surface. The tongs linked above are the exact ones that I use all the time – I’ve had them for over 3 years.

Final Thoughts

These gift ideas are all solid choices depending on what the griddle enthusiast in your life already has or what would make their outdoor cooking experience even better.

The key is finding something that goes beyond the basic must-haves. Anyone who’s serious about griddle cooking already has spatulas and a scraper. But do they have a quality thermometer? A caddy to keep everything organized? A rice cooker to level up their fried rice game?

That’s where these gifts shine. They’re the extras that make cooking on a Blackstone or any flat top grill more enjoyable, more convenient, and more fun.
